Words

I listen to the words people use. I hear the archetypes of their birth chart being expressed through these words. For me, most words and phrases are associated with one or more specific archetypes. While the essential natures of the archetypes transcend words, we can use words to form a vague outline of them in our minds. More importantly, we can use verbal descriptions to point our consciousness beyond words towards a given archetype, to tune our psyche to the essential "vibration" of an archetype and get to know it directly.

This "Words" section of my web site contains a number of short articles that focus on particular words or phrases. Each word or phrase has a meaning, that is it refers to a particular idea or aspect of our experience. These ideas, in turn, contribute to the description of one or more archetypes. By exploring the words we can deepen our understanding of the archetypes.

There is a second aspect to this "Words" section. I find it useful to explicate the fundamental concepts or assumptions that underlie my approach to astrology. These include both psychological and metaphysical notions. Many of these are explored in this section, with their connections to the archetypes highlighted. Clicking around amidst these more abstract word pages is a good way to deepen your understanding of both astrology in general and its wider conceptual context.
