An Online Class

Specifics

This class takes place as a live online teleconference. You access the class using your web browser. Class size is limited to 15 participants.

The class is divided into 2 modules, 8 weeks each. The tuition for each module is $240. Fifty dollars of this may be applied towards the cost of a reading with Tom.

Overview

Change is the name of the game these days. Change in our personal lives and change in the world around us.

The economy is unstable, the climate transforming, our culture is fracturing, our politicians polarizing. Our own needs, interests, and desires evolve as we move through life, as do those of the people around us. What direction should we move in our work that will put food on the table while satisfying our souls and contributing to our world? How do we meet the changing needs of the people we love while staying in touch with who we are and what we want? There is no standing pat, only constant adjustment and change.

This can be ... confusing.

We seek to understand the changes we are experiencing, to see the way forward that meets apparently conflicting needs and demands.

Is there a pattern to the change, an order within the chaos?
The answer is a resounding yes!

Astrology is a window we can use to see past the confusion of change to the underlying pattern. There is a direction to the current, and by moving with it we struggle less and enjoy more.

In this class we will learn to recognize and understand this underlying pattern, these currents of change. We will look through the window of our birth chart to see the overall direction of change in our life. We will see how we oppose this current by holding on to old and familiar patterns. And we will see how to get with the program, go with the flow, embracing the changes that will bring satisfaction and success to ourselves and our world.

The Classes

The astrological birth chart shows us the underlying pattern of who we are. We see the pattern in a configuration of symbols, called archetypes, which represent the various aspects of our personality as well as the different areas of our life. To understand the currents of change that course through us and our world, it is necessary to understand these archetypes. There are twelve fundamental astrological archetypes, twelve basic ways we experience and make sense of life. We will explore each of them, learning their basic natures. Further, we will learn how to apply the information they offer us to navigate the currents of change in our lives.

The free Introduction begins this process by exploring these general currents of change that we are all experiencing personally as well as in the world around us, and how we can use astrology to better understand them and thus move with them.

The first 8-week class explores six of the twelve archetypes. You will learn to use these to understand yourself as an individual - your mind and emotions, your needs and desires - and how you can find personal satisfaction and joy in life.

The second 8-week class explores the second six archetypes. Here the focus will be on your relationships, your participation in groups and communities, your career, and finally your spiritual life.

Throughout both classes we will look through the window that astrology offers us, seeing the direction the currents of change are moving in our lives, and learning to move with them.

Tom

Tom Watkins has been an astrological counselor and teacher for 30 years, building on his earlier experience as a psychotherapist. He teaches an integration of astrology and psychology. This approach satisfies both the intellectual need for understanding and the practical need to make choices in one's life.
