Following Your Path

I help you follow your path. I do this by helping you to see clearly where you are on your path and where it is heading. We encounter many crossroads, points along the way where we must make decisions, choose between alternatives. I help you to view these alternatives in the context of your personal and spiritual development. Some roads, because of their familiarity, offer pleasure and safety, but are ultimately dead-ends. Others are new, less known, and yet take you to satisfaction and fulfillment. Both directions are shown clearly in your birth chart.

Your path begins at your South Node; it is a place of comfort and familiarity. You know how to do it - you have always been very good at it. Its sign tells us the nature of the energies and behaviors that you depend upon to stabilize your life, to feel secure. Its house tells us that area of your life that you emphasize, resulting in a stable orientation that maintains your personal status quo. We all need stability and security, and the South Node provides it.

Your path is heading towards your North Node. It is not so much a goal as a direction. It is unexplored territory. It is where you can actualize your potential. It is a place of excitement and challenge, expansion and freedom. Its sign tells us the energies that further your growth. Its house tells us the orientation that you must develop, as well as the area of life that is calling you forward.

At each decision point, South and North Nodes vie for our attention. Always we must choose between, or better, balance stability and growth, familiarity and adventure. We make these choices using Saturn. This is the administrator of the psyche. It is responsible for our survival, and uses the South Node to keep us operating within safe limits. It is also responsible to something beyond us. It tells us what we should do, what the world needs from us. It turns out that when we are truly doing what we should do (and by this I do not necessarily mean the expectations of external authorities), we move forward on our path. We are rewarded with a feeling of wholeness and completeness that the North Node provides.
