The Aspects

The aspects, literally the angular distance between two planets, represent the energy flow between parts of our psyche. Certain aspects, notably the sextiles and trines, represent a tendency for a smooth, harmonious flow of energy - the two parts get along well together, they work well together. Other aspects, notably the squares and oppositions, represent a tendency for tension or conflict - an issue that you must work on and resolve. The conjunctions can go either way, depending on the planets involved, while the inconjuncts represent a weaker and mostly unconscious conflict.
