At the beginning of Aries the individual and collective principles are equal, but immediately the individual principle surpasses the collective and gradually increases its dominance throughout the sign (and the rest of the first quadrant). The entity's individuality emerges into consciousness and surges forward. Because the difference in strength between the two principles is so small, the newly dominant individuality feels like it has to constantly prove itself. Aries pits itself against every possible opponent it encounters, testing its strength and courage. It constantly moves forward, stopping only when completely exhausted. The collective principle can then re-emerge for a short while, the entity surrendeing, collapsing back into the restorative Piscean unconscious.
